Easy Elegance® Roses are incredibly adaptable and a wonderful focal point as container plantings. They make the perfect accent to a patio, deck, or entryway on their own or with annual companion plants. Containers are also a great way to move your roses throughout the garden as the summer progresses to match seasonal blooms.
Container planting is also a great way to control the environment and health of your rose shrubs. If you have really sandy or clay-heavy soil, you can easily provide a really healthy soil mix in a container. Follow the general planting tips, the same as you would in the ground. Then, place the container in full sun with the nutrient-rich soil and fertilizer, and you’re good to go!
Keep in mind that containers do need a bit more water, but quickly checking once a day is easy enough to do. Stick your fingers in the soil and make sure it feels damp but not wet. If the soil is dry, water until you see water running out the drainage holes in the bottom of the container. It’s that simple, and you get to enjoy beautiful rose blooms all summer long.
