Kashmir 101: Plant Details, Landscape Inspiration, and Care Tips

Its time discuss one of the most popular roses in the Easy Elegance® collection: Kashmir Rose!

We love Kashmir because it is a beautiful and classic red rose, that gives the look of a hybrid tea rose without any of the hassle. This own root shrub rose has an evenly round habit and can be used multiple ways in the landscape to create a stunning garden design.

Classic Red

An obvious part of Kashmir’s appeal is its amazing red color and soft blossoms. Complimented by green foliage, this rose is sure to pop out of the landscape wherever it’s planted.

Full Sun

Kashmir can withstand full sun planting and still maintain its bright red color. If you’re looking for a stunning addition to an area of your space that doesn’t get any shade, Kashmir is your rose!

Cut Floral

Have some fun with the roses in your garden by creating cut floral arrangements. Kashmir is perfect for arrangements and gift bouquets thanks to its fantastic bloom color, size, and texture. Read our blog on prepping and creating cut arrangements from the garden to learn more.

Landscaping with Kashmir Rose

Border Planting

Thanks to its evenly round habit, Kashmir works great as a border planting or low hedge around walkways, garden borders, and foundations. It’s shape and size is perfect for hugging pathways and the edge of garden beds.

Bold Accent Plant

Red is a surefire statement color in the landscape, and Kashmir is no exception. Use this bold rose as a focal point in the middle of garden designs for a stunning pop of color.

Care Tips for Kashmir Rose

Planting: Kashmir thrives when planted in full sun, so make sure Kashmir is planted in a space that gets at least 6 hours of full sun a day. Check out our planting blog to make sure you’re planting your rose.

Watering: Kashmir does best when the soil is kept evenly moist. Be sure to watch our video on watering for the best tips and tricks to keep it hydrated all season long.

Fertilizing: Kashmir doesn’t require fertilizing, but it will benefit from it. If you want to apply, be sure to use a granular, well balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Apply once in spring when you see green leafy new growth and be sure to follow the directions on the package. To learn more, watch our video on how to fertilize in spring.

Pruning: Easy Elegance® roses require very little pruning to thrive. Once your Kashmir rose is established, we recommend pruning in early spring to remove any dead, damaged, or crossing stems.
